Representatives of the retail betting division of Ladbrokes confirmed that the popular broadcaster BT Sport will be televised across the land-based betting shops of Ladbrokes. The announcement for the partnership came just on time before the start of the Premier League season.
The sports content of BT Sport will be available in as many as 2144 betting shops on the territory of the United Kingdom and in 77 shops, located in Ireland. The content BT Sport offers includes a wide range of Premier League matches. It also covers FA Cup Fixtures, Europa League, and UEFA Champions League.
The Retail Managing Director of Ladbrokes, Lee Drabwell commented on the latest partnership and said that the company was happy to work in collaboration with BT Sport. He defined the addition of BT Sport content to Ladbrokes’ portfolio as an important stage of the further development of the retail sector. The fact that the partnership was signed right before the next Premier League season made it even a greater accomplishment.
He went on the say that the presence of the BT Sport content, as well as the availability of sponsors of the SPFL, makes the football passion even more intense. He did not miss to invite all players who share that passion to try the BT Sports services available at the Ladbrokes’ land-based shops and remained confident they will be satisfied as far as their quality was concerned.
The Director Commercial Customers at BT Sport, Bruce Cuthbert, said that they were excited about the opportunity to work with such a well-established provider of sports betting and online gambling solutions as Ladbrokes. He also added that it was a pleasure to supply Ladbrokes’ betting shops with a wide array of sports betting services right before the first Premier League match last weekend when Manchester City hosted Sunderland.
Meanwhile, it became clear that the Ladbrokes – Gala Coral merger is likely move ahead as Boylesports announced its interest in purchasing the betting shops that were the key reason why the merger has remained in limbo for quite some time.
Rumour has it that Betfred was also among the potential buyers, but no official information has been released so far. However, BoyleSports representatives have already announced that the company was weighting the option of acquiring as many as 360 betting shops. However, it remains uncertain whether the Irish bookmaker has already submitted a bid or it is yet to do that.
